A Prophet Like Moses; the Hours of Prayer (Acts 3:1-26)

Home » Teaching » New Testament » Acts » A Prophet Like Moses The Hours Of Prayer Acts 31 26 |  March 6, 2022

This story begins with Peter and John going to the temple to pray at the ninth hour (approximately 3 pm), referred to as “the hour of prayer”. We consider the ancient Christian custom of praying multiple times during the day, and how those hours relate to the Passion of Christ. After Peter heals a crippled man, he boldly preaches the resurrection of Jesus, in fulfillment of the prophecies. In this lesson we unpack one of the most extraordinary, faith-building prophecies in all of Scripture: Deuteronomy 18:15-19. We close by identifying yet another hidden prophecy that Peter alludes to in his message.
